About This Walk

This spectacular bushwalk links two of Pemberton's most iconic attractions β€” the historic Gloucester Tree and the beautiful Cascades on Lefroy Brook. The trail follows the Bibbulmun Track markers through dense karri forest, one of the tallest hardwood forests on Earth, with some trees soaring over 60 metres.

Starting at the Gloucester Tree in Gloucester National Park (3km south of Pemberton), the walk winds through the majestic karri forest, crosses East Brook, and follows sections of old railway earthworks β€” a reminder of the region's timber industry heritage. The forest floor is alive with ferns and native vegetation.

The trail ends at The Cascades, a picturesque series of rapids and small waterfalls on Lefroy Brook, where a loop trail allows further exploration around a car park and picnic area. For a one-way 6km experience, you can arrange a tram pickup from The Cascades back to town aboard the historic Pemberton Tramway.
