About Total Trails
Your guide to exploring the trails of Western Australia's Southern Forests & Valleys.
The Southern Forests & Valleys region of Western Australia is an adventure playground of national parks, state forests, wide sandy beaches, pretty picnic spots, rolling hills, tranquil rivers, and picturesque landscapes.
Our region is home to some of the most amazing trails for you to explore, no matter what your mode of transport. Walk, cycle, drive, paddle, or horse-ride through stunning nature. There's an experience waiting for you.
Our Region
Spanning from Balingup in the north to Walpole in the south, the Southern Forests & Valleys encompasses the shires of Bridgetown-Greenbushes, Manjimup, and Nannup, along with neighbouring trail communities. This is tall timber country — home to the world's tallest hardwood forests, the pristine Blackwood River, and some of Western Australia's most spectacular natural scenery.
Iconic Trails
Our region is crossed by two of Australia's most famous long-distance trails — the Bibbulmun Track (1,000km walking trail) and the Munda Biddi Trail (1,072km cycling trail). We're also home to the Warren Blackwood Stock Route, a 345km bridle trail following historic stock droving routes — the longest equestrian trail in Western Australia.
Trail Safety
Western Australia's weather conditions can change quite rapidly, so always check local conditions and plan ahead. Reduce your environmental impact by sticking to established trails — you'll also be safer and less likely to get lost. If you should suffer an injury or illness, it'll be easier for help to reach you. Always let someone know where you're going.
The Explore Parks WA website provides up-to-date information on safety, current park, trail, and road closures, bushfire information, and details of park fees that may apply to your visit.
