Greenbushes Loop Walk
Forest, History & Scenic Views
About This Walk
The Greenbushes Loop Walk is a rewarding 16-kilometre circuit that begins at the Greenbushes Discovery Centre and winds through magnificent jarrah and marri forest. The trail takes in a natural swimming pool, granite rock waterfalls, and the historic Mount Jones Dam before joining a section of the world-famous Bibbulmun Track.
Approximately five kilometres of the loop follows the Bibbulmun Track, offering sweeping views across the Blackwood farming valley. The trail passes several heritage sites from Greenbushes' prosperous mining past, including Schwenke's Dam and remnants of the old Vultan Tin Mine. Greenbushes has been a mining town since the 1880s.
The loop is marked by distinctive triangular badges featuring a Red-tailed Black Cockatoo β keep an eye out for these beautiful birds as you walk. In spring, the forest floor comes alive with wildflowers, making this an especially rewarding time to visit. Located approximately 2.5 hours south of Perth on the South West Highway.
